WOW! Time sures flies. Heidi is one now! I can't believe it has only been a year and yet I can't believe she is already one. It seems like I just brought her home from the hospital. I look at her and can't believe how muc
h she has changed in just a year. She loves to look at books, play with her ball and likes to scoot on her bottom across the floor--I have no idea why. Her party was really low-key. The Womacks came over for dinner. They are Heidi's Sitka grandparents. She got enough toys to keep her busy for awhile.

Heidi and I workout together almost every morning. Her form isn't incredible, but she does squats, sit-ups and uses the rubber tubing to work her gums. Not to sound like a proud mom or anything, but I think she is so cute. Other people do too. I have been stopped in the store by people who think she is adorable. She is starting to interact more and play more games like "Eensy, weensy spider", and "head, shoulders, knees, and toes".
Heidi and I are trying to stay sane in the rain. This is a little difficult in a home with only one bedroom, a large closet (that now contains our bed), and a long straight line of what we affectionately refer to as rooms. We spend a lot of time at the library and faithfully attend a play group. When it is sunny out we have a lot of fun. Blueberries and huckleberries grow wild and we picked a bunch to freeze. I think we also donated a pint of blood to the "no-see-ums". We have also been on several hikes. I love the forest service here. They keep the trails so well maintained and they put a rowboat in most of the smaller lakes. We took Heidi out on the boat and showed her the lily pads. She was more interested in splashing in the rain water on the bottom. I have to admit, I was kind of glad for the first day of rain. My back and shoulders were so sore from the back pack.
Heidi and I took a two week vacation to Washington to see Jolene's wedding and to see the sun. Both were beautiful. We went to the Portland Zoo, swimming, on walks, and shopping. We enjoyed every minute of it. Especially seeing family again. I loved being able to leave Heidi with her grandparents and go to the gym or shopping. Heidi loved it too. Occasionally, she would cry and point out the car window to all her aunts playing in the swimming pool, begging to play and not go shopping. They were only too happy to accommodate.
