Update

I was talking to Tamazine and she said I need to update this blog. I guess she is right. Only I can't really think of anything to tell. We have been busy playing the past few days. We went to the beach one day and wore ourselves out. Mason cried for an hour after I tucked him in for the night, he was just too tired. Or maybe it was the two teeth he was cutting? Then Tuesday we went to the park and ran errands (well, walked errands--it was too hot to run). Today we have to wash clothes again because my kids have a very limited supply of hot weather clothes and it appears we are already out. I love having a yard now, we go outside turn the hose on and just play and get super wet.
What you really want to know is what are the kids up to now. Well, Mason is changing daily. Poor Jared, who sleeps during the day, is constantly surprised. Mason gets into everything and puts things in strange places. I find my shoes in the cupboards and cans in the shoe box. Books, balls, bubbles and rolling cars can keep him entertained for hours. Mason loves bananas and knows where I keep them on the counter. When he is hungry he calls out for them and bangs on the counter. He is pretty good at getting his point across; although, I do wish he would learn to talk a little better so I didn't have to listen to him scream all the time and guess. He loves to play patty-cake, peek-a-boo and eensy weensy spider. He knows certain words and that makes it fun. Say nap and he will wave good-night, say bath and he will run to the bathroom, say daddy has to go to work and he will try to open the door (not even close to reaching yet) and wave bye-bye. But please do not say banana if there aren't any in the house. That is just mean.
Heidi is also changing pretty quick. Her obsession is Blue's Clues right now. She even has her own notebook and pen which she uses all the time. (Mason has his too.) I let her take it to bed. One night I went to check on her, the notebook was still open on the pillow, but she was on her back, her arms spread out, and the pen cluthed in her little hand. She has a little whiteboard book where you trace the letters and numbers so she does that constantly too. One day just out of curiousity I asked her to write the ABCs (Draw an A, Now a B....) she can write almost all of them; G and K were a little difficult and her m's look like those little birds you draw the distance. Still not bad for 2 1/2. She loves going to the park. "thwinging on the thwings and sliding on the slide" Her imagination is starting to come and that makes it fun for me. Her best friend is blue (color?, dog?), but she also likes schoolbus, Lightning and Mater. I think there is a yellow in there too. So funny to hear her play with them.
Here is a video of Mason. He really wants the camera. I have him strapped into the high chair pretty tightly.
