This has been an eventful few weeks for us. Heidi and I were able to go back down to Washington to see Chantal get married in the Portland temple. We had a great time, saw some family we haven't seen in years; including Harold and Nacele, who had never met Heidi. For a while Heidi just started calling most adults grandma and grandpa. I guess she thought it was easier that way, or she began to think that is what everyone was.
We went to the Oregon Coast which Heidi called a "puddle" and insisted on splashing in. So like any good mom I rolled up her pants and let her splash. T
hat was fine until she found the really deep holes. So we took off the pants, soon the coat had to come off because she was getting very involved. So now I have this 18 month old, in a diaper and t-shirt, in 50 degree weather playing in the water. It didn't take too long before she got cold enough to stop, get bundled up again and snuggle up next to me for a nap.

There is just one hitch, they don't get their own seat. This is typically fine, unless the plane is packed as it was for us on the way home. It didn't help that the man sitting next to us was probably 6 foot something and fairly heavy. It was a very long 2 hours!! On the way down to Ketchican Heidi started screaming in pain. Her ears must have really hurt because she was twisting and writhing all over. Finally she calmed down and fell asleep on me. I apologized to the man sitting near us, after all he had just received some fairly hard kicks and it was the least I could do. We had just settled back in and were getting ready to take off when Heidi woke up and threw up all over both of us--more than once. It was so bad and we couldn't even get up because they were completing the final checks before take off. Next time we fly--she gets her own seat!
It felt so good to be home again. We started potty training Heidi. Ahhhhh, I love diapers and not having to get up every 15 minutes to go "practice". We only work on it in the mornings right now because she is still pretty small and gets frusterated with the whole thing by nap time. We have yet to actually use the potty for anything besides a chair, but my floor is receiving it's fair share of "potty-time". Then we all got really sick and put a nice little end to that. I figure we will give it a week or so and start again. At least now she knows when she is going.
