We had a great Easter. Heidi wore her new dress and we took the traditional Easter picture. Due to the snow outside our backdrop is our lovely dishwasher. I thought about posting a better picture, but I think this shows the real Heidi. I told her to smile, and she did. She loves teasing and laughing about things. The smile was her idea of a joke. The primary had an Easter Activity, followed by an egg hunt. The egg hunt is always interesting. Last year some neighbor kids tried to gather up the eggs while we were all inside and this year the ravens flew off with a few. However, we had more than enough for the kids who came. Heidi got seven eggs-which in my opinion is way more than enough candy for a one year old. However, she had so much fun finding eggs and putting them in her basket that we spent a few days "hunting". I would hide the empty eggs around the room and she would run in and grab them. I never knew empty eggs could be so much fun.
Then again I am learning a lot I never knew. I never knew playing in the sink with measuring cups and spoons could be so much fun. Or that one could spend an hour in the shower filling up a pitcher with water and then using a tablespoon to empty it--over and over again. I never knew, or I forgot, that smearing peanut butter all over could be considered painting and that a glue stick could offer hours of entertainment. I also seem to have forgotten just why crayons are so much better without paper and how good a pencil eraser can taste.
We are now the proud owners of a hi-def camcorder. I can't figure out all the nuances of it, but Jared can. I just press play. We are so excited to be able to catch her doing all her cute things. It seems like it comes out several times a week just so we can record forever the new things she does. However, a still picture is sometimes the best way to capture life. I love this one of Heidi and Jared enjoying their smoothies. We have been house hunting, a little. We found a house we love, but the owner is still not sure he is selling. He doesn't know he is having a lot of prayers said that he is selling. We are not coveting his house, it is just when we looked at it, it was as close to perfect as you can get. Fenced in yard, family room, right price range, garage, big kitchen, close to town.....
We all loved it.
We all loved it.
A little off topic, but...
For those who don't know, we just experienced a quadruple homicide here in this little town. It is a pretty big deal. We were blessed and Jared was not working that day and did not get called in. He had to deal with some of the aftermath, but it was not as bad as it could have been for us. I had just been complaining about night shift too. Hopefully, when the baby is born he will be day shift and stay on day shift until 2009. :)
Heidi is bugging me, "pay elmo, pay elmo" I guess it is her turn to use the computer.
